This policy explains how Baseline handles your data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The short version: your health data is processed in memory to generate one report and is never stored.
The files you upload from your wearable export contain special category data (data concerning your health). This includes recovery, heart-rate, heart-rate-variability, sleep, skin-temperature, strain, and journal entries. We also process the payment confirmation from our payment provider (Stripe) — we never see your card details.
Because this is special category health data, our lawful basis is your explicit consent, given via the checkbox on the upload page immediately before processing. You can withdraw consent by simply not uploading; once a report is generated the data is already gone.
Your uploaded files are parsed, analysed, and rendered entirely in memory during a single request, and are then discarded immediately. We do not write your files or the numbers derived from them to any disk, database, or object storage, and we do not log their contents. The generated report exists only in your browser tab and in the HTML file you choose to download — both are outside our control once delivered.
To write the narrative section of your report, the numerical summaryof your analysis (aggregate statistics only — never your raw daily rows) is sent to Anthropic's API. Payment is handled by Stripe. We use no other processors, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
We record only anonymous page-view counts. There is no analytics, tracking, or profiling on the report page.
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Because we store nothing, most requests are moot — there is no retained record to access or erase. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Baseline is an analytics tool, not a medical device. Its output is observational, not causal, and must not be used to diagnose, treat, or manage any condition. Always consult a qualified clinician about your health.
